WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE GRAPHICS IN HIGH SCHOOL?
"Originally I had no clue what I was going to do. I didn’t go through exploratory so ended up picking graphics on a whim. I’ve always had a passion for creating work that people could see. And unfortunately it got cut short because of covid, but i’m glad I stuck through it."
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO STAY IN THIS FIELD?
"I believe this is where I shine the most, it gives me freedom and the ability to be creative however I want. I can create anything from ads, to posters, to videos, to branding. The opportunities in this field are endless and there’s so much to explore with it. During the last two years of high school are where my love for it really started. Mr. Garcia is a phenomenal teacher, he taught me so much and my passion really came from the work he gave us and the things he taught us."
DO YOU FEEL THAT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN GRAPHICS BETTER PREPARED YOU FOR COLLEGE AND WORKING IN THE FIELD?
"Most definitely! I feel that getting so much experience and being able to play around with the Adobe software, really helped me get a step ahead from my classmates. Not only that, but getting a head start on knowing what typography is, laying things out & finding out the end result when printing gives me more awareness when i’m creating things!"
